Mr. Pepicelli has spent his entire career as a leader in the area's labor movement representing and advocating for low wage immigrant workers. He began his career as an Organizer for the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union in the Boston area in 1980, and was appointed Business Agent and later elected Manager of the ILGWU's Boston Joint Board. After the merger between the ILGWU and the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union, forming the Union of Needletrades Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE), Mr. Pepicelli was elected as an International Vice President. In this capacity, he helped to merge two other UNITE affiliates in New England to form the New England Joint Board and was elected Manager of that organization before UNITE merged with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees to form UNITE HERE. He is currently the manager of the New England Joint Board and an Executive Vice President of UNITE HERE International Union.  The New England Joint Board represents 10,000 workers in the six New England States and New York employed in the textile, garment, manufacturing, distribution, laundry, hospitality, and human services industries. Mr. Pepicelli has negotiated hundreds of labor contracts with various employers across the region. He serves on many boards including the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board, Attorney General Maura Healey's Labor Advisory Council, and the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.
